Picnic

Logen at the neighborhood picnic feeding llamas and riding a pony.

The coupons are from a Hero Arts stamp set, the patterned paper is Basic Grey's cupcake line, the gold butterfly was in one of Noel's kits and I used my Fiskars threading water punch on the blue cardstock.

This is for Scrap City's color combo challenge. SC had a crop this month along with their usual monthly challenges, I created over 30 layouts and 2 mini albums this month. Needless to say my scrap room is a mess! So today, before the new monthly challenges come out, I will reorganizing my scrap room again.

Alphabet Journaling

This was for another Scrap City challenge to use every letter of the alphabet to describe someone. I wrote them with a pink pen, inked the edges with pink and of course used my Thickers, these are vinyl.

Scrap Your Crap Challenge

The challenge this week at SYC is to create a page using inspiration from a book or magazine. Out of all the scrapbook magazines I have laying around I chose to use a Saturn ad that caught my eye in Real Simple magazine. I think the inspiration for their ad came from a scrapbook page! There are paper flowers in the ad. Come on over and play, you get your whole layout from a magazine or just the colors or elements.

Scrap City Weekend Crop

Scrap City is having a crop this weekend to celebrate the Grand Opening of their store. Come on it to the City and check out all the fun challenges for the crop.

This is for the sketch challenge. My Daddy and Nana at the fireworks show July 4th in Waverly.

The challenge here was to use a quote, I decided instead of searching for a quote I would use one from my brother...Beer up!

This challenge is to use Black and White photos.
The challenge is to create a Chirstmas in July layout, the catch is blue has to be the primary color for the layout.

First Check

This is for Scrap City's wildcard challenge this month. The challenge was to use 2 patterned papers from different manufacturers, the orange and blue is 7 Gypsies and the ledger is Fancy Pants. You also had to use flowers, buttons, bling and stamp/ink...the bling in on the swirled stamped image.

This is a photo of Ashley and her first check from a real estate closing after getting her license. I left the journaling spot blank so she could fill in the details.

The Mall

It's true, I HATE the mall and even more with a four year old in tow! I would go to Mars if Logen asked me to go but I don't think he will be asking me to go to mall again. If you ask him where CC (that's what he calls me) hates to go he says."Da mall". We had this made at the photo booth at the mall and we had no idea how to operate it so I had to hold him up to even get a little of us in the photo!

This layout is for Scrap City's color combo challenge this month it's orange and turquoise.

FYI vinyl Thickers do not stick to Bazzill Bling cardstock and I had to glue dot every letter.

Clock

I this for Scrap City's pre grand opening challenge. I used a cd, covered it with paper for the Rock Star collection, used ultra thick gold embossing on the edges and heart shaped jewels for the numbers.

Scrap Your Fabric

It's use up some of that fabric stash at Scrap Your Crap this week. Even though I don't sew I have had this Christmas fabric for a long time, I used it instead of patterned paper in the Christmas layout. Noel is having a Christmas in July challenge, so this will work for hers, too.

I found the fabric that was left over from making this dress at husband's grandmother's house and just had to use it with the picture of Cassie wearing the dress.

Tee Tee's Member Challenge

This is the first simple layout I've done in awhile and it sure felt good! Tee Tee's challenge at Scrap City was to create a layout using one picture, paper and ink. No embellishments! This is a picture I took of my daughter yesterday, she actually liked this layout. She thinks I get too froo froo with the flowers and bling, I have to admit that I like this too. Thanks for a great challenge Tee Tee and layout completed in under an hour!

Carol's Challenge

Carol's member challenge at Scrap City was to do a silhouette. Her instructions are on the blog. But I did it a bit different, I had Logen stand in front of the door with the blinds closed and took a pic with no flash, then in my photo program I outlined his silhouette and darkened it, then I printed the pic onto regular paper, attached it with repositionable adhesive to black cardstock and cut it out.

I used Prima Paintables paper for the background paper. I colored the red with a marker and the goldish color I painted with Twinkling H2O for a shimmery effect. I used a Unity rubber stamp and white embossing powder for the name plate. I painted a coat of black acrylic paint over the silhouette and then a coat of clear crackle paint. I know all this doesn't show in the photo, this looks a lot different in real life!

Family

Scrap City is having a member challenge this weekend, where we get to make the challenges. This is Pearl's challenge to create a layout using 2 pictures, flowers, chipboard and the colors pink, yellow and green. These pictures are from Kristin's high school graduation party one pic is her and her Grandaddy and the other is her and her Deb. These are two people in her life that she knows she can always count on.
This is a close up of the Bazzill 'N Stitches paper, I just used a straight stitch.

Christmas in July & Signs of Summer

I think this is the first layout that I've done with no faces of people on the page. This is for the scraplift challenge at Scrap City. Things in this layout are sure signs of summer at the lake, wakeboarding, beer (that is a picture of a sign that hangs on the deck) and Leanne's fancy pedicure! Leanne don't sue me for posting your toes on the internet!

Noel is having a Christmas in July challenge and the winner gets one of her kits. Her kits are awesome and you can enter as many layouts as you want. So get out those Christmas pics that you were so sick of scrapping earlier in the year and scrap them. It actually made me feel alittle cooler, well that and the A/C blasting!

Priceless

1. Cafe curtain rod $1.99
2. 2 packages of curtain clips $3.98
3. Getting to admire all my Thickers....priceless

I bought some extra rods and clips to start working on my rubons and stickers next. This is really a cheap storage solution and I can see what I have so I am more likely to use them.

Use Those Crappy Scissors

Get those dusty old scissors out that we once thought we couldn't live without and scrap your crap! This week's challenge at Scrap Your Crap is to use deco edged scissors on a layout. I used 5 different pair on this layout. I had a piece of Bazzill cardstock with an edge in the shape of a heart, I trace the heart onto plain cardstock then cut it out with wave scissors, then cut the pic with deckle scissors, the mat with some funky scissors, I cut the edge of the paper with pinking scissors on the four corners and inked it for effect. All in all I had fun with scissors and may just start using them again! So come on you can do it...scrap you crap!!!

If anyone actually needs or wants any of these scissors, leave a comment and let me know. I would love to RAK a few pair!

Yeah I Get to Keep My Tiara

Thank you Greta!!! I get to keep my tiara and I am now in Greta and Simone's court over at Scrap Your Crap. I will be posting a layout for their challenge every week as inspiration. Check their blog every week so you can Scrap Your Crap. Right now they are also holding RAK and the winner gets a custom banner for their blog...cool prize!

Acrylic Mini Album II

This is my second acrylic album. On this one I used a lot of stamps and Staz-on ink. I was pictures of our girls night at the lake last month. The pictures aren't great, but it is seldom that the six of us are able to get together at one time that I wanted an album to commemerate the evening.

Tool Time

Archiver's had a free class called Tool Time that I attended this morning. I learned a few tips that I didn't know, but mostly I told Sandy, the instructor, things that see didn't know! Oh well at least it was free and I only spent about an hour in class. I think this was a first for me though, I left without buying anything!

Don't Blink

I had some pictures left over from my Uncle's birthday party and I had these laid out but didn't have a title. I got in the car and turned the radio on and the song playing was Kenny Chesney's Don't Blink and I thought that was a perfect title for this page.

This is for Scrap City's July Sketch Challenge.

You're Gonna Miss This

I started this layout for Scrap Your Crap, their challenge this week is to use at least 3 colors of paint. On a piece of white cardstock I applied black paint with wadded up saran wrap, after the black dried, I applied pink paint with bubble wrap. When I was trying to come up with a title I used this week's Scrapping The Music song, I applied stickers and then painted over the stickers with white paint after removing the stickers I applied Glossy Accents over the letter in the title.

The song is by Trace Adkins and you read the lyrics at Scrapping the Music. It really is a beautiful song.

Kristin and Todd Snider

Kristin picked this paper out of the Rock Star collection. Todd Snider signed her ticket with a peace sign and heart, so we titled the page Peace. My daughter got her love of Todd Snider from me, I discover this singer/songwriter over ten years ago and we love his songs!

Sorry Bob

Well, I finally gave up on finding Trixie's real parents and took her to the vet today. Everthing worked out great no disease and she was neutered...yes I know "shes" don't get neutered! So Trixie has now become Bob, I am so sorry that I called you Trixie for a week.

Today's Guest Scrapper

Today's guest scrapper is Madeline! She is my very talented 11 year old Niece who is visiting with us this week. On her last trip here I got her started scrapbooking and she's a natural. She completed these three pages last night. It's amazing how fast she gets a layout done. Today we went to a rubber stamping class at Archiver's and we are signed up for an acrylic album class on Friday. Her favorite product of the moment is Stickles, she acquired several bottles today.

Thanks Maddy for cranking out these beautiful pages! I am getting our weekend at lake photos developed now and I'm sure she will have an album completed by the time she goes home.

I hope to get back to visiting your blogs soon, I'm playing catch up now.

PS: Maddy just created her own blog, check it out and leave her a comment, she would love that!

Mini Album

This album is for my Uncle's 60th birthday using pictures from his surprise party. I wanted something that looked manly and I found this cool license plate album at Archivers, the brand is Creative Imaginations. The album is an odd size 4 1/4 by 7 1/2, but it has 16 pages (32 using front and back) so it will hold a lot of pictures.

I want to make the album funny so I am looking for humorous quotes, if you have any ideas leave me a comment.

The journaling on the left hand side of this page says Grandkids are God's reward for not killing your children!
