I'm changing the date that I make my New Years resolution from January to April. I am the worlds worst procrastinator! Recent examples I keep getting letters saying I missed my appointment for my colonoscopy that was made 2 years ago. I have an appointment to get my taxes done on April 14, that's a great accomplishment for me, one day BEFORE it has be done. Yeah!!! BTW it's almost 2pm and I still have my pjs on. 😄

Clinical depression
I was diagnosed with depression about seven years ago and have lived with it fairly well with as long as my meds are right. Every now and then when the meds stop working I turn into a weepy pile of hot mess. That happened Friday and hopefully the doctor can get me back on the right track Monday. This has been provided as a public service announcement. If you wake up weeping and feeling like hot pile of mess go to the doctor!

The Grinch
Yesterday was Dr. Seuss day at school, also Hayes was star of the week. I took him lunch from the Sonic and ate at the special table. Then I went back to his room and read his favorite book to the class. He was happy to his CC come to school and I enjoyed it too.

Stories that would bore my daughter!
My Dad is 72 years old tomorrow and I love to hear him talk about his childhood now. Of course, there were times when they would bore me to death. But I cherish them now. I am from a small town known for its gravel and we have a lot of gravel pits. Dad and I were trying to out do each other with gravel pit stories from our childhood the other day. Swimming in the deep blue water the pits created, the pits were the town's lover's lane and playground! He finally told a story I'd never heard about finding dynomite and him and his best friend would light and through in the "blue swimming hole". At that point I said okay you WIN!!!

Country Clubbing
Thanks to Greg's company we were members of the country club for a couple of years. The membership gave us special treatment during the PGA tournament and Kristin and I enjoyed the Pro Am before the real tournament began because we could take pictures.

Sheer Terror
The things we put our kids through just to get a picture with a scary man dressed as a rabbit! This picture just make me laugh every time I look at it, the boys are perfectly posed oblivious to their sisters screams.

Back to Scrappin'
I'm working on an album for Ben's high school graduation. I hope I can finish it in three years!
The Onsby's Christmas picture 2011.
I enjoyed scrapbooking and blogging so much, I really don't know why I got out of the habit. It seems I got so much more accomplished when I posted my projects. I've been doing projects here and there, but now I'm going to start blogging again to see if I can get more done!

Someday
I finally finished the wedding album for my friend that got married last April. You do have a year to give a wedding present, right?
Now I'm working on invitations for my sister-in-law's 40th birthday party. The list just keeps growing!
Then I committed to making an album for a silent auction. ...I'm thinking mini album.
Someday I hope to start scrapping for my pleasure but I don't see that happening in the near future. I miss doing stuff just for fun!

Progress
I'm up before 9am and that's a big deal for me...lol
Yesterday I managed to finish 3 scrapbook pages for a wedding album that I have been working on for months, only 6 more to go. I can't wait to finish this so I can do something fun just for me!

Baby Boy
THIS IS A REPOST, I HAVE TONS OF THIS VINTAGE SHEET MUSIC AND I CAN'T USE IT ALL. I AM SELLING IT 3 SHEETS FOR $1.00 PLUS SHIPPING. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
I did this challenge with Scrap Your Crap's bead challenge in mind. I thought the alphabet beads looked like a baby bracelet. The color scheme is for Scrap City's challenge to use brown, tan and blue. I used Bazzill brown card stock, Basic Grey patterned paper and the sheet music is from a 1948 Magazine of music. The sheet music had already began to deteriorate, I spray it with a perservative that made it archivally safe to use with photos. I love the vintage look of this layout.

Child Services please...
To the woman at the Selmer Moose Lodge Saturday night you are the epitome of an unfit mother!
My brothers band had a gig at the Moose Lodge, hey you have to start somewhere, Saturday night. I arrived around 7:30PM to a group of several already very drunk rednecks. The band hadn't started playing yet so the lights were up and if was pretty quite in little room where they we going to play. I noticed a beautiful baby girl about 6 months old all dressed up, a headband with a big bow on her little bald head, her chubby cheeks were bright red and she was being passed from one drunk to another. I thought okay she's just showing off her baby and she will leave once the band starts playing...not. She was still there wide eyed still being passed around to anyone that would take her when I left at 11:30pm!
Dear Unfit Mother at the Selmer Moose Lodge,
You have a beautiful baby girl. I'd bet that if that baby could talk she would have told you,"Take me home, read me a story and put me in my nice warm bed. Really, Mommy it's 12 degrees outside and I don't want to be here."
You are a child abuser and you have no idea. You obviously didn't want to be bothered with motherhood. That little baby spent hours in a tiny smoked filled room with a band blaring very loud music in her tiny ears. I never heard her fuss or cry, someone was holding her all night, usually someone with a drink and a cigarette in their hand.
Believe me I will never be named mother of the year but this so infuriated me that I needed to put it in words. I never put my daughter in this situation and I managed to raise her to adulthood without too much damage. I only wish one of the adults there would have told you to take your little darling home or get a babysitter when you want to go out and party. Just think the next time, "Does my baby really need to be exposed to smoke, loud music and drunks tonight?" If she could talk, she would have said NO!
You're lucky that I have no idea who you are or I would be on the phone with child services telling them this story instead of venting on my blog. Please start acting like a real mother and take care of this baby.
Sincerely,
Visitor at the Selmer Moose Lodge

New Year
I know half of January is gone but as the procrastinator that I am Jan. 11th is pretty early.
1. I resolve to get back to scrapping because it really makes me happy and I finally moved into the spare bedroom and out of the dining room.
2. No more sleeping till noon even if I didn't get to sleep until 4am.
3. No more moving from the bed to couch and turning the TV on to watch stupid Lifetime movies that I've DVRed, I should never have gotten that damn DVR but now I don't think I can live without it...who wants to watch the stupid commercials!
4. No more checking Facebook a 1000 times a day and playing Bejeweled Blitz for hours. When I say just one more game, mean just one more game!
5. Quit saying "I'm going to lose weight", because I'm not just live with it! Get rid of those size 4 jeans that are taking up space in my closet.

Vintage Sheet Music
After cleaning out my Grandmother in law's house I found stacks of vintage sheet music. I have used some in layouts, but I can only use so much. If anyone is interested in purchasing some sheets, let me know. I will sell them 3 sheets for a $1.
I am having trouble reposting my layout using the sheet music. Check out my August 3, 2008 post.

2010
Okay I fell off the scrapbooking wagon last year during some home improvements. My resolution is to turn the toy room into my scrap room, I am about half way there. Once I'm all organized in my new space I am going to be a scrapping demon!

March Design Team Layouts
Our March sponsor at Scrap City is Charlie's Scrappin' Store.
She sent us some Coredinates card stock and flowers to work with. The Coredinates is awesome to distress and emboss, it strong enough to take crumpling, inking, tearing and embossing with ease.

My Rock, My Daddy
I loved this picture of my Daddy (isn't he cute!) by the pool at my brother's house on Labor Day weekend. (Yes I'm that far behind!) He is always there for me no matter what and I wanted to pay tribute to him with a layout. This page was designed for the technique challenge at Scrap City, the challenge was to sew on a layout. I machine stitched the scalloped circle to the background paper and I hand sewed the buttons to the layout.

LOAD 2/4
It's not too late to get in on the fun at LOAD with Lain. I did it last year and was able to complete a layout a day, this is a great way to get caught up. These photos are from Labor Day, so that shows how far behind I am.

No Mistake
Scrap Your Crap's challenge this month is to use Red and Pink in a layout. The patterned paper was left over from a Fiskars rak, I think it's Heidi Grace.

ATC Swap at Scrap City
We had an ATC swap at Scrap City. I had bought these stickers in a cute little gift shop in Portland and knew they would be perfect for an ATC. The sticker look vintage, but have current day sayings. I painted, stamped, embossing, blinged and stickled the cards, these were so fun to make! The pics aren't great because the weather was so yucky I had to take them inside,

Calendars
This was like doing 24 layouts at once and it's why Ashley and Debbie didn't get their Christmas gifts until mid-Jan! This year I am going to try and do a Calendar layout each month.

Scrap City DT Jan. Cards
I don't make a lot of cards usually just when I need one, I will whip one up in a hurry. This month at Scrap City it's all about cards so I had to make 5. I really enjoyed taking my time on the these and now I will have a few ready when I need them.
