Forgive My Absence
I know I have a post most everyday, but my daughter is in the hospital and even though she's 19 I don't want to leave her alone for too long at a time. I just came home to email her instructors at college. I don't think is any thing serious, seems like a really bad stomach virus, but they are going to run some tests. I hope to be back scrapping soon!

A Day At The Park
This layout was done for Noel's challenge this week. I had so many pictures from this day, I decided to do another page. This was based loosely on Noel's sketch and with paper from her March kit. The monkeys were stamped on white cardstock and I used colored pencils to fill them in.

Week 3 of the 8 week challenge at Kits & Pieces, this week's challenge was to create a layout with circles. If you signed up on their site when I had the RAK, please log on and vote for me this week. This is the first week they are allowing members to vote for their favorite layout.
This was the first really nice day we had had in a long time and Logen had a ball at our new neighborhood park. I took a ton of pictures, until he finally told me not to take anymore! I think this is the most photographs that I have ever put in a layout.

Wedding Album
Wedding Album
I am making a wedding album as a gift. It was hard to get started on this because I am not putting pictures in the album. I am creating a 20 page album and I am doing repetitive pages, so once I get one layout done I just do the same thing over again. I got 10 pages done yesterday here is a sample of some of the pages.

What A Mess!
Here's a picture of the mess I am making working on the ATCs for our swap hosted by Amy. I am not going to show the finished product, that would be no fun! This is my first real try at these little pieces of art, I have no idea what the finished product should look like, I do know I made one mell of hess!

Crafts on a Whim
Check out Crafts on a Whim, Andi was kind enough to make me the featured crafter of the week.
Honeymoon
We don't have many wedding or honeymoon pictures, we eloped to Lake Tahoe and my best friend flew in from Alaska to be the Best Woman/Maid of Honor, this picture is really dark but since I don't have many of us together I wanted to scrap it anyway.
I usually paint raw chipboard, but I left these squares the way they were and inked the edges, the color matched my sweater. I stitched the squares together with rickrack and the heart with ribbon. I did paint the heart and the arrow. I didn't need much journaling, so just wrote around the heart.
Crappy Flowers
The challenge over at Scrap Your Crap this week was flowers. I have had these flowers forever and I don't like them. They came in a kit I bought at Costco and there were thousands of the these little paper flowers in the kit. So thanks for the challenge and helping me use up some these crappy flowers!
Do you want the rest of these flowers? Be the first person to ask for them and they are yours!

Cards from Scraps
I made these cards with the leftover paper from my "hugs" layout. This is the easiest way for me to make cards, I am more of scrapper than cardmaker but when you have the scraps already out and have a color scheme it's easy to make the cards. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the cards with owls on them, I cut a circle out of the front of the card and stamped the owl on the inside.

Vinyl Record
This certainly isn't the prettiest layout I've ever done. But probably the most journaling that I've ever done. I hope my future generations get a kick out of seeing a real vinyl record and learning how much I love music. I don't have a turntable anymore so the record was useless sitting in a drawer.

The Easter Dress
I managed to finish one layout this evening, I think I still need to complete one more to catch up on goal of finishing one a day in March.

This layout is of my daughter when she was six. I mainly used Noel's Hopscotch kit. I know I've said this before, but I love the paper in this kit! The photo is not that great, I hate to take the pic at night with the flash on.

I'm Back!
I took the scenic route on my trip to the lake on Friday and for now I want to share a couple photos.
My faithful companion Casey settled in for the ride on a Sponge Bob blankie.

I saw this establishment in Huntingdon, Tennessee and had to stop and take a picture. The Redneck Supply House seems to have everything any Tennessee Redneck would need!

I hope to get a layout done this afternoon, I will post later.

Easter Bunny
5,4,3,2,1
I did this layout for Lesli's challenge, the challenge was to create a layout using 5 brads, 4 photos, 3 rub ons, 2 pieces of chipboard and 1 circle. I also used some paper from Noel Mignon's March kit, I love this paper! The 5 brads are on the 1 circle, the rub ons are in the title, the border at the bottom and on one of the pictures, the 2 chipboard flowers on the upper left of the layout completed the requirements. I really had fun with this challenge, thanks Lesli!

This Is Rare
I seldom use multiple photos in my layouts, I used six photos in this one and I rarely scrap photos of myself because I am the one behind the camera! I used my Heidi Grace pack I bought at Fiskadeals, they are running a new special every day this month so check it out. Click on the picture to get a better view of the layout.
Less is Enough
I couldn't stand it! Less is not more, so I took it out on the envelope!
Father and Daughter
I'm a day behind on my LOAD for March, so I will have to make another layout today. I made this layout for a challenge at Kits & Pieces, the layout had to include rub ons, patterned paper and metal. Once I got all the material out this layout came together fast. I hope to get another page up later today!

March Doodle Challenge - Weather is Topic
This is my entry for our Doodling Fiskateer Challenge, the layout had to pertain to the weather. My poor little hyicynth flowers were all warm and happy one day and then the next day they got five inches of snow dumped on them and now today it was back up in the 60s again!
I know it doesn't show up in the picture, unless you enlarge the pic like a million percent, but I had to tell you how I did the background. I wanted to spritz a color to match my flower and I finally achieved the perfect color by mixing a bit of grape kool-aid with a bit of berry blue kool-aid and a little water! This was so fun you will probably see every flavor of kool-aid before to long and kool-aid is only 10 cents a package, so you can buy a whole lot of kool-aid for what you would spend on dye.

Scrappy Caddy
Sandy at Fiskateers shared this quick, easy and cute caddy. The instructions are: 1. Score a 12X12 sheet of cardstock at 4 inches and 8 inches, turn and score again the opposite direction at 4 and 8 inches. Your cardstock is now scored into 9 squares. 2. Score the corner squares diagonally, from point towards center of the paper. Cut eight 3 3/4 inch squares of the same patterned paper or coordinating, then cut four of the squares diagonally into triangle. 4. adhere the paper to cardstock as shown in the photo above, leave center square blank. (I then spray with clear gloss paint) 5. Poke holes in each of the four points, embellish as desired. 6. Fold on all scored lines and fold up, folding diagonally scored squares with crease toward center. 7. Thread one length of ribbon through two points diagonally across caddy. Thread other the opposite direction. Hold together and tie in a bow.

Class-Layout #6 in March
This is the layout of the day, so far I've managed to post a layout every day in March. The flowers were cut from a sheet of patterned paper and adhered to page in layers using foam dots for dimension. The hinges on the side of photo make it able to "open" to reveal the journaling under the photo, I didn't want to take away from this photo so I hid the journaling.

Layout with Stitch'z
I participated in the LOAD (layout a day) challenge at Big Picture Scrapbooking in January and enjoyed it so much that I have challenged myself to do the same in March. So far so good this is my fourth layout this month.

Review of the Crop A Dile Big Bite
I love the Big Bite. I did a Nascar themed page and I didn't have any racing embellishments. I don't know why but my Diet Coke can always gives me inspiration (weird huh)! Anyway right there on the side of my can was a picture of Dale Jarrett in celebration of 50 years of the Daytona 500. I used the Big Bite to punch holes through the metal and paper then put the eyelets in. Something I figured out after punching the first hole was to tape down the metal with removable tape so you get the holes punched were you want them. My first try with it I didn't want to get too aggressive, so I stuck with just 4 eyelets but I'm ready to tackle something bigger now!

I Broke All the Rules!
I broke all the rules of the color wheel and balancing! I did manage to keep repetition with the circles. This was for the class Scrapalicious! at My Creative Classroom, I must give all the credit for this layout to my instructor Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. The circles were made in a mosaic style, I ran a piece of black cardstock through the xyron, then put cut up scraps of all shapes on the sticky side of the cardstock, then covered the whole thing with red glitter (to appear as grout) and cut circles with 3 different sized punches. I adhered the circles with different heights of foam tape and dots.
Glittery Album Cover
The cover of this album was white book board. I painted the cover with blue acrylic paint in small sections then poured blue glitter over the paint and let it dry. I sprayed clear gloss spray paint over the glitter and it keeps it from coming off. I may have to patent that idea, I've never been able to keep glitter in its place! I used foam tape to adhere the invitation to the cover. I used my Zutter Bind It All to bind the book and tied scrap ribbon on the wire binding.
