My cousin asked me to make a page to go in a frame for a wedding gift. I used a laser cut overlay with wedding words over black cardstock and framed the page with tulle and put flowers in each corner. Hobby Lobby carries a 12X12 frame especially made for scrapbook pages, I the frame for $10 when they had them for 50% off.

OMG Tim Holtz Left Me A Comment!!!
Look at the comment section on the post from yesterday when I was showing off my Scrapbooking Diva shirt. I told you that shirt had super powers!
I sent Tim Holtz an email earlier today thanking him for solving a problem I was having with distress inks puddling on my acrylic stamps. When I was in the chat room with him he answered my question and solved my problem. He said to stamp the clear stamp on permanent ink first and then in the distress ink. I inked the stamp with Staz-on and stamped on a scrap piece of paper, then inked with the distress ink and it worked like a charm.

Very Active Imagination!
I used these really thick felt cutouts from Fancy Pants for the car and bracket and Thickers for the title. I like the dimension of this felt, it comes in a package of four different colors of 12X12 sheets with a ton of different cutouts. There are bright colors for boy themed cutouts and pastel for the girls theme.
P.S. My May 11th post of Logen's first tee ball game layout was Scrap City's layout of the week for this week.
Tim Holtz
I joined I Scrap yesterday because they were having Tim Holtz as a guest in their chat room last night. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was worth the $5 fee to find out. Well, Tim was in the room for over an hour and after the chat hostess concluded a brief interview the attendees were able to ask questions. It was awesome, I was chatting with Tim Holtz. He answered everyone's questions. It was well worth the $5 to join this site. It is normally $25, but they are running a special right now to get new members.
It is not an ordinary message board, they don't sell scrapbook kits. They have great contests with awesome prizes. I wouldn't normally recommend a site, but this one is really great. They took requests for who we would like to chat with, I said Heidi Swapp. They have promised to have other chats like the one with Tim. They are offering a free techniques class at the end of June.
If you decide to join please click the blinkie I put up on the right and mention my member number #712448, I get points that you can redeem if you mention the number.

Fun Layout!
I always have fun with the challenges at Scrap Your Crap and this was no exception. This week's challenge was to use 5 or more pictures on your layout.
I had to drive my brother's Jeep back to his home after it was repaired in Memphis. I was afraid to drive it on the Interstate because when big trucks would pass me it felt like I was going to be blown off the road. So I took the back roads and turned a 2 hour trip into a 3 1/2 hour trip, but there was no traffic and some really funny sites!
This is how I made the road on my layout. I ran the toy truck tires over my ink pad and then on the paper. It would have been better to have a truck with bigger tires and more tread, but this was all I had. I think I'll look for a new toy truck on my next trip to the dollar store.

Great Weekend
This is the first Memorial Day weekend that I remember when the weather was perfect! Not too hot, not too cold...just perfect. Spent two days on the water, I'm still rocking to the waves a bit, had some great food and to quote Johnny "a good time was had by all!" Here's some pics that will make it to a scrapbook page another day, too tired to scrap today!
My baby Bro singing and playing a very difficult song by Gov't Mule called Soul Shine, but he sure sounded good. Check it out, it is an awesome song.

My sister-in-law Leanne and me. I left my sunglasses at home and found this pair in the kitchen cabinet, who knows how old they are, but they served the purpose. Snatched Michael's hat while he was in the water! We had boats tied together like the redneck yacht club.
Matt, the captain, Greg my husband, nephew Ben and my brother Michael.

Winter Theme Challenge
I made this layout for the Theme Challenge at Scrap City. The challenge was to create a Winter themed layout. This was no problem once I got Noel's kits. I ordered some of her older kits from last winter so I had new goodies to play with and get my challenge completed!

Beach Mini Album
I sprayed painted the raw chipboard white to make the inside pages easier, I didn't use background paper on the inside. The problem with creating an album like this is you don't have much room to scrap on the first few letters, still it was enough room to put the best pictures, even if I did do some creative cropping.

My Granny & Me
This layout was scraplifted from Misty's blog post on May 12th for a challenge at Scrap City. The challenge was to find a layout that you loved on someone's blog and "lift" it, of course Misty was gracious enough to give me her permission to copy her layout. I "made" these flowers by layering several different ones...some were silk from the dollar store, some were Primas and some were Heidi Swapp. This layout was inexpensive to make and really like the simplicity. I journaled on the back of the page, I do this when I have a lot to say and don't want to clutter my layout.

Button RAK
I am giving away buttons to whoever guesses how many buttons are in the picture over at Fiskateers. Go check it out. Winner will be decided on Sat. at 3PM Central Time.
edit...I need to be more specific, you have to go to my post "Button RAK" on the fiskateers message board and guess over there. To see the picture of my buttons go to my profile, my fiskateer number is 3429.

My Crazy Cat
If you are looking for a pet please try and adopt or rescue rather than buy an animal. I have 2 cats and 1 dog all were rescued from certain death and they are the greatest pets. No they don't have pedigees or papers and will never win a dog or cat show, but they love unconditionally and are grateful to have a good home.
Helping a Fellow Scrapper
I am not much on making cards, but I couldn't resist these stamps when Hobby Lobby had them for 50% off. One reads Live it Up and the other Girlfriends Matter.

Kristin
This is for Scrap City's color combination challenge this month, you had to use green, blue and yellow. This paper is from one of Noel's kits, she has some great stuff!
This picture is a school picture, so this layout is a good example of what you can do with those old school pictures that have long been replaced with current pictures in frames. The back drop on this one was really ugly, so I just cut around Kristin!
Update-This layout was the layout of the week at Scrapcity...Woo Hoo!!!

Logen's First T-Ball Game
This is for the May sketch challenge at Scrap City. I did some stitching on the the mat to mimick the stitching on the baseball.
Photos from Logen's first baseball game. I captured his first trip to home plate! They are really cute to watch, his team is made up of 4,5 and 6 year olds. Logen's 4 so he is one of the younger ones and doesn't have a clue what to do, but when the coach says run...he runs!

Cassie's Mini Album
The trick to working with acrylic is to use things that look okay from the front and back. Double sided paper is great, I used a lot of rain dots, plastic flowers, epoxy stickers and gems. For adhesive I used mini glue dots and tacky glue that dries clear.
Of course these pages don't photograph very well but you can get a closer look by clicking on the picture for a more detailed idea of how I did this.
This album was certainly not the easiest thing I've done, but I do like the result, so it was worth the trouble!

Acrylic Mini Album
I have been working all day on an acrylic mini album, but I just couldn't stop until I was finished. I had never done anything like this, it was a challenge, but I really had fun! I think I needed a challenge, seems I've been stuck in a creative rut lately. I took one picture before dark and this page isn't complete, I will post the whole thing tomorrow. In the meantime I will share this tidbit.

My Mom
I wanted to create a layout in memory of my Mom for Mother's Day. I found this picture and was able to get it enlarged, I expected to lose some quality of the photo after I did this, but it came out pretty good considering the age of the photo.
I wanted the focus of the layout to be the photo, so I kept it very simple and I am pleased with they way it turned out.
