Altered Candle Holder

Hobby Lobby has their candle holders 50% this week, so I paid $2.50 for this one. Scrap City's challenge this month was to alter a candle holder and this is what I can up with. I used green alcohol ink on the top portion, then alternated paper strips and ribbon from last year's Christmas stash, then tied ribbon with mini ornaments to the stem, used a gold paint pen on the rim and used red gems on the base. This would make a great hostess gift and it was really cheap to make.

MY BCFF (best cyber friend forever) lol

Here are some photos from my trip to Seattle. Cathy and her precious baby girl Nika entertained me for the afternoon, it was like chatting with an old friend rather meeting someone for the first time!

Go Logen!!!

Logen had a great game today! I think he's getting the hang of soceer this year and learning the game. I love this shot, usually both teams are all huddled around the ball but I was able to get this shot when he kicked the ball in bounds.

I finally got a months worth of pics developed and I hope to do some scrapping tomorrow.

Scrapping The Not So Perfect Photos

No matter how many pics I took I could never get a photo with all four of them smiling and looking at the camera. I still wanted to scrap these pics, I love the colors and it was Mother's Day. I really like the way the layout turned out and I love the candid shots.

This is for Scrap City's scraplift challenge. I used American Crafts patterned paper and Thickers.

Lime Light and Scrap Your Crap

Don't forget about the awesome RAK at SYC, the layout is easy to complete all you need to do is use a pen or marker. We are giving away 2 gift certificates from Noel Mignon, her kits are awesome!

Lime Light's blog will be up and running sometime next week. It does explain a bit about what we are trying to accomplish, papercrafting for charitable causes. I am thrilled to be a part of this DT and being able to help make someone in need by crafting. So please add this site to your blog roll and check us out, you could help with our projects.

Where'd My Creativity Go!

I am going to scrap today! I haven't done anything since we got back from our trip, but I'm finally unpacked and caught up on laundry so I have no excuse.

I'm hoping once I get in there to scrap I will come up with something. In the mean time I will show off Cathy's adorable ATCs. When I met her in Seattle she had this cute little goody bag for me, she is so sweet and thoughtful!

I'm Back!

We had a great trip to Seattle and Portland, the weather was incredible! I went to a Seahawks game, did a lot of touristy stuff and I met one of my blogging buddies.

Cathy was so sweet to pick me up and entertain me for the afternoon while Greg was working. It was great meeting her in real life. I spent a wonderful afternoon with her and her precious baby girl Nika, went to see her beautiful new house and met her hubby, too. We have a lot in common and it was like spending the afternoon with an old friend and not someone that I was meeting for the first time. Thank you so much Cathy! I will post pics once I get them loaded, I haven't even unpacked yet!

In other great news I made the design team for a great site that is just starting, Lime Light. The blog is not yet up publicly, I will post link when we go live. This is a different sort of thing the founders of Lime Light are doing. We will be doing charitable paper crafting, cards for soldiers for example. I am looking forward to this opportunity to put my paper crafting to use for a good cause. They also have a great Cricut site, check it out.

I am way behind on my blog hopping but I promise to get caught up soon!

Scrap Your Crap = Leave Your Mark

I used my Uniball Signo white pen to journal in swirls on this layout for SYC challenge. We have a great RAK on this challenge so check it out.

Kristin was twirling around like a 4 year old in this little sundress and I loved the shot from behind. I friend of hers took this pic.

Northwest Bound

I am leaving tomorrow to tagalong with Greg on a business trip. We will be in Seattle for a few days and then Portland. I normally don't go with him when he's working, but I've never been to Seattle or Portland so I decided to go this year.

I hope you all have a great week and that you aren't effected by Ike. I will be back next Thursday evening and hope I get my scrapping mojo back!

Just Like Mimi

Logen has just started wearing glasses and he wanted Mimi to wear hers to take a picture.

This is for Scrap City's sticker challenge this month. I used the letters that I inked and applied glossy accents for this layout. The striped paper is 7 Gypsies, the lined paper is Making Memories and the cardstock is Bazzill Bling. The journaling spot is from Cosmo Cricket.

Letter Sticker Tips

I got the most out of this sheet of letter stickers. I used some of the letters as they came, I used a yellow marker on some, I inked and then used glossy accents on a title. I used a 3 for an E and an upside down W for M.

Thanks American Crafts

I had a problem with the vinyl Thickers sticking on some papers, I think the high humidity here caused my problem, so I sent an email to American Crafts explaining my problem. They told me to send them back to them and they would be happy to replace them. Not only did they replace them but they sent me 2 extra packages of Thickers and 100 sheets of patterned paper. I am so glad to deal with a company that stands behind their product and I will be more likely to use American Crafts products in the future.

Whiz Kid

I captured Logen's concentration on the game he was playing on my laptop. Once you get him to the right site he can do everything else without any help. He is a 4 year old computer whiz!

This is the sketch challenge for Scrap City.

RIP Casey Baby

Yesterday I had to put Casey to sleep. This was one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do. She lived a good long life, she was 20 and I know that I was fortunate to have had her in my life for so long. I know it was the right thing to do, her quality of life has not been good for the past few months, but that did not make it any easier. We buried her at the lake, she always loved being there. Here are some layouts of her, the springtime one that I made for her was at the lake and the photo was taken where we buried her.
