Chipboard Crap

Thanks to Simone and Greta over at Scrap Your Crap I was able to rid myself of over 40 pieces of chipboard that had been collecting dust. Check out their blog if you haven't, it's awesome!

The Big 1

I machine stitched the Bazzill Cardstock with an Edge to the patterned paper. I spray painted the Grungeboard number 1 then outlined with acrylic paint. I finally used the Queen & Co. felt border in the middle of the page (I thought I just had to have that felt about 3 months ago!). This layout is for the Kits and Pieces Week 8 RAK, you had to use felt.

This picture is Hayes' birthday portrait. The outfit was Logen's, Ashley did a great job replacing the name on the front of the outfit and making it different for Hayes.

Please Vote for Me (RAK)

Update on the update....whatever!!! Now Kits & Pieces is saying that unless you voted for 3 people...1st, 2nd and 3rd then the votes don't count. If you want vote again fine but please don't feel obligated, they changed the rules or got their wires crossed! I will pick someone for the RAK from those who have voted anyway.

If you are registered at Kits and Pieces please vote my Week 7 Layout in the challenge. If you are not registered please do and then vote for me. Leave me a comment after you vote and will draw a random name to RAK. This is the layout to vote for. You will need to go to the message board and then to the post under Contests, Challenges, Jen is the moderator and you will have to pm her with your vote. Just send her a message saying you want to vote for: 1st place-scrappycatz-I Love Me and then vote for someone for 2nd and 3rd. I know that it is a lot of trouble, but I promise I will have a scrappy goodie worth the trouble!

Kits and Pieces has a great message board and I have been in this 8 week challenge from the start, I am 5 points off the lead so I really need your help! Thank you all for your support.

Week 7 Challenge at Kits and Pieces

My entry for Week 7 had to me about self love. I am back in town for a day and I had to get this done. This is an 8 week challenge and I would have hated to not to finish after I've come this far!

MIA

I will be out of town until Sunday, I am going to Arkanas to help my family clear out somethings from my husband's late grandmother's home. She had lived there for over 60 years before she passed away and I don't think she ever threw anything away. This will be a chore going through years of stuff.

I have a challenge due on Sunday that I have the components together but still have to put them together. I hope I can get it done Sunday, here's a peek at it:

I've Been Tagged

Colleen tagged me to come up with six random things about myself. I am struggling with trying to do a layout about myself, so maybe this will help.

1. I am an animal lover and I can't remember a time in my life when I was petless! I have one dog and two cats. If I could I would like to foster pets that had been abused, maybe one day when I retire to the country I will. My Casey, 19 year old mutt, was abused and I have had her for 16 years and she has never been abused in my care, but she still cowers when someone pets her on the head. All three of my animals we rescued, I would never buy a breeded animal when so many others need homes.
2. I am addicted to scrapping and I don't feel like I am wasting time doing it, I feel that long after I am gone my family will cherish my scrapbooks. I spend was too much time making them come out just right, but I know they will be appreciated.
3. I love football, college or pro, I am a football fanatic! In the off season I will watch a movie about football just to get my fix.
4. On the average day I listen to music more than I watch TV, unless it's football season!
5. I am a spoiler of children mine or anyone children. I think childhood is a time for play and that adulthood comes soon enough not to let them have fun.
6. I have five great friends that have been my friend for more than thirty years and I could call anyone of them anytime and they would be here for me and do anything they could. I would do the same for them.

Thank you Colleen, I think writing those six random things will make my layout easier. Now I want to tag Judy, Flossie and Susan. Please don't feel obligated to complete this, it's just for fun and I don't want you to feel stressed about doing it!

ATCs

This is the second set of ATCs that I have done. I did these for a swap at Fiskateers, the only requirement was that they be purple. I used playing cards, painted the back dark purple and sponged a lighter purple over that, then wrote my info with my white Uni-ball Signo (this pen continues to amaze me!) I used Heidi Grace paper and made a little pocket to slip a sentiment into.

Week 6 - Kits and Pieces 8 week challenge

This week's challenge was to use a non-horizontal title, to use stitching, use chipboard and buttons.

This is my daughter in Kindergarten, I know the glasses are too big but those are the ones she wanted and she loved them!

My Baby Darling Daughter

This layout is for the April sketch at Kits & Pieces. Yesterday's layout got me to thinking how time flies, so I wanted to a layout featuring her as a baby. These pics were taken when we were in the hospital, the large one was taken only a few hours after she was born. The picture of the layout is a bit blurry, click on the picture to read the journaling.

I was in the hospital for five days when I had her in 1988, no complications but I had C-section, the insurance companies would never allow a five day hospital stay now!

Don't forget my Bling Bling Challenge you have until Sunday to post a layout featuring some bling, glitz or glitter to my slide show.

My Darling Daughter

This layout is from a sketch on Lesli's blog. Kristin was 15 in this picture, she's 19 now and really hasn't changed much since then. I like that there is no title, just words around the photo describing her.

Check These Out

There are two great blogs, Michelle and Misty, with wonderful RAKs and blog booty, check these out and mention that Lisa sent you!

Also, another blog that is not scrapping related, but these gals have some hilarious videos...
Midlife Gals.

Family

I did this page for this week's Scrap Your Crap challenge to use at least 2 tools on a layout. I dusted off my Sizzix Side Kick and cut the letters and the borders, then I used my Crop A Dile Big Bite for the eyelets that secure the photo to the page.

This layout has a lot of "white space", I don't really know who started that trend and term, I just did a quick layout!

Daddy's Helper

I used spray paint over stickers, then removed stickers to make the title on this layout. I used Bazzill's In Stitch'z templates for the border on the bottom.

I needed to give little brother Hayes a little screen time, I have been doing more layouts with Logen lately. Logen's been around a few more years than Hayes!

Add Your Bling Projects to The Slide Show

Bling Bling RAK

Congratulations Alesha, my daughter drew you from all the bling submitted

Here's some of my bling and a sneak peak at the piece of crap I recieved from Greta and Simone at Scrap Your Crap.

Show me your bling and get a chance to win this cool "bling bling" Fiskars squeeze punch! Make a project (layout, card or any papercrafting project) using gems, bling, glitter or glitz (basically any thing shiny!). Post a comment with a link to your layout or card on here by April 20th. That should give everyone plenty of time.

Sorry no international mailing, feel free to complete the challenge though.

A Crier

I didn't have patterned paper to match this picture so I cut some scraps of orange and blue, then made a mosaic with glitter "grout" and punched circles to match Logen's Nemo lunch box and back pack. I used Thickers for the title, they came pre-glittered, this line of Thickers is called "Roller Rink".

When you read the journaling you will understand the title! Click on the pic to get a better view of the journaling.

My Onlys

I spritzed a sheet of white cardstock with blue dye, I used 75 eyelets on the layout and used my fantastic new white pen for the journaling! The pen is a Uni-Ball Signo that I ended up ordering from Jet Pens because it virtually impossible to find in stores. This pen is the best white pen I have ever used and I bought a lot of them trying to find the right one.

Family and Friend

I did a layout for each of us, same pictures different techniques. I used a lot of ink and stamping on this layout.
I trimmed the flowers in the lower right corner from patterned paper. The rub ons under title are Bazzill and came with the pearls, I love this ribbon it is embossed velvet. The title is felt Thickers. If you haven't tried Thickers, they are great and come in felt, chipboard and glittered, they are the perfect size for titles, not to big like some chipboard letters can be.

April Doodles

This layout is for a doodle challenge for April. I painted the background, then painted some squares then doodled the flowers and cut them out. I don't know what I ever did without Shrapie Paint pens and a white Unibal Signo! Check out Jet Pens for great prices on all kinds of great scrapping pens.

Painting Challenge

This is for my Week 5 challenge at Kits and Pieces, the challenge was to use paint for the background. I took an ugly sheet of cardstock that I probably would have never used, I put screen down and dabbed bright blue paint over the screen to give it a bit of texture. Then I used Heidi Swap mask letters and painted silver over those. I used a white paint pen to fill in the letters and then outlined them in black. I made a big mess doing this layout!

Go Memphis Tigers!!

Go Tigers Go Beat Kansas Tonight!!!!!!!!!!! We just could be your National Basketball team champions! How could they lose with Hayes cheering them on.

My hometown Memphis Tigers are playing for the National Championship in basketball tonight against Kansas. I will finish the journaling around the photo depending on the outcome of the game!

Zippered Page

This photo was taken a few days before my Mom passed away. I have wanted to scrap this picture for some time, but I didn't want the journaling to be visible and I had a lot to say. I put a zipper in the page and covered the back with card stock. I wrote a long letter, tucked it inside and zipped it up.

I cut a slot in the paper 8 inches wide x about 1/4 in high, I used that super sticky red back double sided tape on the zipper and stuck it in the slot. I then covered up any exposed sticky with rick rack.

Journal

I made the tag on this journal using Tim Holtz's newest technique shown on his blog. I used some of his ideas, but mine doesn't look anything like his. Check his blog out he has some interesting ideas.

Maddy

This layout was done with more of Noel's kit, there is so much in this kit that I am having a hard time using it all! The kit has been perfect for Easter and Spring photos.
I used my Sizzix sidekick to cut the felt flowers and then used that super sticky red double backed tape to adhere micro beads to the centers. This is my entry in Scrap Your Crap's felt challenge this week.

Soccer Star

This was Logen's first time playing soccer, he mostly just ran up and down the field. He did get one goal.

I used cotton yarn to stitch the stars in the Bazzill Stitch cardstock and cut stars to fill the center.

Dabbling

This layout was created for my Kits and Pieces 8 week challenge. This is week four's challenge, to use non scrapbook items to complete a layout. I used screen, foil tape and that dohicky that I put the brads through from Home Depot. The index card, tag and clips are from Office Depot. I spray painted the screen white, it comes in black. The foil tape is a lot shinier than it appears in the photo.

Logen came up the with title for this page. He loves to play in my supplies. He picked up a bottle of ink and ask what it was, I told him it was a dabber. He then said that he wanted to dabble. So he is dabbling in these pictures!

Thank You All

My daughter came home from the hospital today and is feeling much better. Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.

Maybe I can do some scrapping once I get her settled in. I miss it!
