New Arrival-Welcome Bella

I know this picture looks like one of those big headed stuffed animal dogs, but she loves me so much I can't get a picture without her walking towards me!

Kristin and I went to the animal shelter on Thursday, they had a full house so there were plenty to choose from. I walked right by this little girl and really didn't notice her because she wasn't barking or jumping, she was just sitting there. We took a few dogs out in the yard to play with and thought we had found the one we wanted. We went in the office to fill out the paperwork and we were going back to the cage when this one caught my eye. She looked up at me with the saddest eyes I've ever seen...it was love at first sight! I went in the cage with her and she crawled up in my lap, I knew she was MY dog. Her name is Bella and she is the sweetest puppy ever. The vet says she is at least a year old but not much older than that. She looks like a miniature lab and weighs 28 pounds.

I was hesitant to put a picture of her injury on here but I wanted to remind anyone looking for a dog to please not go and buy one. There are so many in shelters waiting for a chance to have a real home. Bella was so scared because some very mean person had hurt her and more than once. This gash on her back is healing well and will leave another scar, she has a scar on her hip from a previous injury. Abused dogs make the best pets they are thankful to be saved. So I encourage you to adopt a needy dog.

We had a Halloween swap at Scrap City and look at the great happy mail I got from Wendy! I can't believe there are Thickers that I didn't have, these are glittery lavender and will look awesome on a layout for one of the girls, pretty flowers, great Halloween stamps....thank you Wendy!

I cannot imagine someone doing that to a dog. Cruelty makes me sick!

What a sweetheart! Oh, Lisa, congratulations! She is so lucky! I know that you will give her a great home! Hello Bella!

I love your goodies too! How fun! Wendy did a great job!

What a wonderful lady you are and Bella is sure lucky to have you and you to have her! She looks like she is going to be a wonderful companion. I too believe in adoption, Miss Cosmo my kitty was ready to be put to sleep, because she has no tail, no one wanted her, but I did. She cost me a ton on money when we first got her, she was one sick kitty, but guess what, she is the bestest girl in the whole world. Congrats to you and Bella!

Bella's story made me cry. I worked at a vet's office for 3.5 years and you'd be amazed at what people would do to their animals. I'm so glad she found a forever home with you and your family.....Many hugs to Bella..

Belle's is beautiful and her story hit home. We used (Kiwi is deceased) to have a dog that came from the shelter it was sooo abused that for the first month my dad had to visit her everyday before she could come home so she got to know him - then she was slowy introduced to us kids and ended up being one of the best dogs we had ever had.

Im soooo glad Bella found a home with you and your family !!!!!

Oh, I can't even tell you how much I loved this post. Like the others who commented, I was in tears. Give her a big hug from me, too.

Thanks for adopting her, makes me feel like the world is that much better.

Bella is so lucky to have you. I can't understand how people can be so cruel to animals. We adopted our beautiful Annie from the Humane Society -- it will be 9 years ago in December. She is the love of our lives.

What a sweet pup! She does look like The Dog.

I had a similar experience with a donkey yesterday at the zoo. It just loved me so much any time I would lean against the wood fence it would come up and hit me so that I would pet it. When I left it followed me.

What a pretty baby!!! I'm so glad she found a loving home with you guys!

I can't stand to see animal abuse. I really can't. It breaks my heart and makes me want to hurt the people who did it. I'm so glad you made this post and posted the picture of the horrible wound. People need to know and see what goes on at those places so that they'll not condone them. Two of our cats were badly abused and the third was abandoned at three weeks old. They are the most loving souls I have ever known and I'd not trade them for the world.

I'm really glad your Bella found a loving home!

Oh Lisa Bella is so beautiful and so lucky to have found a home with you. It makes me so angry to think that someone could treat a helpless animal like that but then I guess we aren't lucky enough to have a world filled with nice people. I'm sure she will get well soon and will flourish with the love you will no doubt shower on her :D
Fabulous goodies there Lisa too... can't wait to see what you do with them...ooooooh
hugs
