Please Vote!

Kristin took her first opportunity to vote very seriously. I am so proud of her for keeping informed of the issues and making her choices based on what she believes. Her grandmother was the Election Register for the county and I supposed it has been ingrained in her the importance of voting. I believe that today's teens are more conscious of importance of voting have witnessed the events of 9/11 at a young age. I know that Kristin cares about the future of this country. I believe that we all should feel that way and go vote, it's your civic responsibility. I hope that I have influenced someone to vote.

It was a primary that she voted in and the voter turn out was extremely low. All the poll workers made a big deal of her casting her first vote and gave her a round of applause, she wasn't embarrassed as I would have been she loved the attention!

Good for Kristin. I love to see young people getting involved and taking a stand. I am having a hard time believing that the next presidential election after this fall, my daughter will be voting in. Just what happened to my little baby.

Kudos to you Lisa for encouraging others to exercise their right to vote. It is so important - and everyone has a say! I wish all young people took that responsibility and privilege seriously!

That's a fabulous story! My kids have only ever seen us vote from afar and because I've been overseas since I was 21, I've only ever voted from afar (except the very first time) so I think I would make just as big a deal about the act of voting:).
